WAYNE COMMUNITY CENTER THEATER RENTAL APPLICATION

Security Deposit Required $500 or 10% of the total rent cost, whichever is greater

  1. If rentee is using the Wayne Community Center's lighting and sound in the Theatre area, Rentee agrees to hire the Wayne Community Center's technical staff. The fee for the foregoing is not included in the total rental fee and shall be paid by check to Wayne Township on the day of the rental. Sound/Lighting Technician fees are $50/hour; the technical staff will communicate the number of hours worked and will take the payment at the end of the rental time period.
  2. In the event additional space is needed for dressing or waiting areas, please inform the Wayne Community center at the earliest possible time, in order to attempt to meet your needs.
  3. For all renters and vendors using the Wayne Community Center, the Wayne Community Center must be furnished with a Certificate of Insurance from each business entity naming Wayne Township as an additional insured, in a minimum amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00). Such insurance shall be at no cost to Wayne Township. The Certificates of Insurance must be provided to the Township within thirty (30) days of the rental.
  4. Smoking, vaping, tobacco use, and alcohol use is not permitted anywhere on Township property.
  5. No confetti or glitter is permitted in the theater at any time.
  6. There will be no taping of the theatre stage with masking tape. Only spike tape will be permitted.
  7. Please keep the backstage area and green room clean. There will be a charge if excessive cleaning or maintenance is required. Said charge will be deducted from your security deposit, if applicable.
  8. Nothing may be pinned, taped or attached to the drapes in the theater.
  9. You may provide and utilize any scenery appropriate to your performance. All such scenery, props and equipment must be removed from the theater immediately after the performance. A loading dock adjacent to the theater is available for deliveries. The Township is not responsible for any personal items and/or scenery that are lost or stolen.
  10. Set pieces belonging to the Township may be utilized only upon advance written request and approval of the Township.
  11. You are responsible for all marketing, publicity, and ticket sales for your theatre events.
  12. It is understood that you are responsible for your use of the Township premises. Due care shall be used to ensure that no damage occurs to any part of the premises or the Township’s equipment. Should any such damage occur, you shall be responsible for the cost of any needed repairs.
  13. You shall use the theater exclusively for the purpose represented by you. The Room Rental Agreement may not be assigned by you without the written consent of the Wayne Community Center, which consent may be withheld for any reason.
  14. Security Deposits will not be refunded under any circumstances if the event is cancelled within 120 days of the first scheduled start date. In cases where the room rental is cancelled within 120 days of the first rental date, the security deposit will be kept by the Township in lieu of rental fees.
  15. Facilities will be closed on designated Township Holidays.
  16. The Normal Hours of Operation of the Wayne Recreation Center are as follows:
    Monday - Friday 6am - 10pm
    Saturday 7am - 6pm
    Sunday 7am - 3pm

Please fill out this form in its entirety and send it back to Michael Sochaski with security deposit to hold your date(s). The security deposit (greater of $500 or 10% of all fees) will be returned within 30 days of the final rental date, as long as the room(s) and the building are not damaged, remain clean, and are left in a similar condition as they were prior to the rental.
